IT HAS BEGUN.

So it has begun.

What "it" is, I'm not sure... perhaps the beginning? :)

Leaving for good.... accidentally wearing the same shirt... :D
We're still in the driving-cross-country-without-a-care-in-the-world phase, so we've been enjoying our time left in the U.S.

Yesterday we drove down to Utah and stayed with my cousins, Matt and Karissa. They were WONDERFUL and we had such a good time! Today, we got back on the road and drove right through Wyoming... though we did take a slight detour to an awesome museum. Watch our little video to see THAT adventure.
Matt + Karissa, Utah's finest

All in all, we've been spending a lot of time in the car, listening to music, talking about who and what we left behind in Boise, and trying to guess at how we'll change this summer. We've especially been trying to figure out our motives... are they selfish or virtuous? Are we going to serve or simply to become better people? How are we supposed to love people whose needs are unknown to us?

These are just a few questions we've tossed around. Elaina is insightful and reflective, which has been so helpful for me. She challenges me to think about questions I probably wouldn't have. God knew what He was doing when He put us together on this trip, I suppose. :)
Hanging out at the Utah campfire!
Anyway, enjoy the little videos below (I hope they're not too boring), leave a comment or two so we know you exist, and keep checking back!!

You couldn't have picked a more fun, engaged and challenging travel-mate than HM. The movies are hilarious... Thanks for being such a good sport! Blessings!
    This is for Heidemarie:
What a privilege it is to watch this adventure into the heart of sacrificial ministry unfold. Keep us posted! Watch for God... My mother's heart is holding you both in prayer. My 20-something heart is riding shotgun! ;-) Mutti

  2. It was a little hard to hear when you walked into the penitentiary; did he let you in even though they were really closed? Couldn't turn away two pretty young girls, huh? ;-)

    1. I forgot to respond to this! haha sorry! But anyways, the tours of the penitentiary were closed but the museum was open! He was really nice and I'm slightly convinced he was a vampire. His eyes were a really weird yellow/brown color!
