As you are aware I have discerned not to go to serve with Missionaries of Charity in Kolkata this summer. I wish that the story behind it was interesting in some way, either really funny or a jaw slackened awe moment. It wasn't. I was in Portland for the Justice Conference and I thought of India twice. What did fill my mind were all the crazy things I will be able to do with my education once I graduate. It was clear to me then that Kolkata wasn't where God wanted me this summer. It was that simple, that uneventful. God doesn't really work in mysterious ways, we just say that because we can't see the future.
I may be unsure of where God wants me this summer but that's okay. It will work out just fine, I have faith. I haven't any doubts about my discernment, the greatest validation I received is the generosity Heide and Elaina have been shown. They will be in my prayers, please keep them in yours. Peace.
